My philosophy on teaching: I have taught now for many years and nurturing the whole child is at the heart of everything that I do. I believe that children need the space and care to be able to become successful learners. I have met wonderful teachers throughout my career and the one thing we all agree on is that the mainstream system puts too many restraints on children. I have seen imaginative, wonderful children feel like they are failing because they cannot read or write at the level expected for their age. This may be due to dyslexia or some other learning need. Children need a great start to their learning and I am here to help with that. I nurture every child that I teach, encouraging them to flourish in the areas that they are good at and giving them help in the areas that they find more tricky. I hope to instil a love of learning in everyone that I teach, a happy child is a happy learner.
